Fight the Power of Disagreement with The Four Agreements

Inspiring my decision to fight the power of disagreement with The Four Agreements is my commitment to being a lifelong learner, my strong will and the beauty of  manifesting transformation through all things old and new. Utilizing our power to conceptualize and visualize those positive aspects that we aspire to create in our lives requires a wholistic process. Simply stated, you cannot live a positive life with a negative mind. Fight the power!

Agreement #1 - Be Impeccable with Your Word

Find the Purpose- "Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."

Fight the Power- Those words disagreeable sometimes just roll right off the tongue with a quickness that is unrivaled. Are we feeling angry at the moment? Absolutely. Are we in control of our negativity or our emotions? Absolutely not, we surrendered our control to our impulsive reactions. Remember, words have power, be a model of truth and wisdom.

Agreement #2 - Don't Take Anything Personally

Find the Purpose - "Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

Fight the Power -  Life changing advice came to me in the words, "He who angers you, controls you." Oh no you don't.  I disagree with the thought that anyone would be able to have such control over my life. I cut those puppet strings instantly. I keep an emotional buffer zone to allow myself time and space to best process the situation before I internalize or respond prematurely

Agreement #3 - Don't Make Assumptions

Find the Purpose - "Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life."

Fight the Power - During middle school, one teacher routinely share a silly yet applicable anti-assumption quote. "Never assume. When you assume, you make an ass of (yo)u and me. There is no disagreement with this truth. There will be no assumptions made on my end. I plead daily with my family for complete details. Disclosing or seeking all relevant information puts all parties involved on one accord and eliminates avoidable confusion.

Agreement #4 - Always Do Your Best

Find the Purpose - "Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse and regret."

Fight the Power - The is little to disagree with, when all else is gone, your reputation remains. Your works and your actions will speak volumes for you. Keep in mind, the difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do. Always do your best.
