That Face My Kid Made at IHOP and What I Can Tell You Now

This is by no means the first time that  "Busy" has made a face, thinking about it, his brother and sister have both done the same thing. Oh yeah! We find ourselves looking forward to their faces. Their Scary Face Pancakes at IHOP, of course! Families bring their little ones into participating IHOP restaurants to create their own delicious and nutritious, Scary Face Pancakes throughout October. Adding to the excitement of Halloween and fun treats, on Friday, October 30, kids ages 12 and younger are invited to visit participating IHOP restaurants and decorate a free Scary Face Pancake from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to enjoy!

Thank you to the team from IHOP for the invitation to a media event for the purpose of facilitating this advertorial.

It was recently announced that IHOP stands for “International House of Poltergeists” this October, when Scary Face Pancakes return!

Beware! It's the time of year when Scary Face Pancakes return to haunt IHOP restaurants. Each Scary Face Pancake features a trademark, fluffy, buttermilk pancake, topped with a creamy whipped topping smile and puffy eyes with a fresh strawberry for a nose. Mini chefs will receive two mini Oreos ® and eight pieces of colorful candy corn to give their pancake creation a happy-looking or a horrible-looking candy face. “We’re thrilled to see what creative ‘ghoul-icious’ pancakes our young guests will come up with this October during one of our most beloved IHOP traditions,” said Kirk Thompson, Vice President, Marketing, International House of Pancakes, LLC. “But whether they end up looking frightening, ferocious, or just plain fun, we know our young guests will love eating them no matter what!”

Keeping nutrition and healthy habits in mind, the Scary Face Pancakes and each of the other meal options on the Made for Kids menu are less than 600 calories. NYC is home to a spacious, upscale IHOP restaurant located on East 14th Street with an all-star team and "G", the knowledgeable and friendly, General Manager responsible for satisfying the New York City crowds with those trademark IHOP pancakes. As "Busy" and I sat down to decorate Scary Face Pancakes with Marie Grimm, Vice President, Culinary Innovations, we addressed the concerns of parents working to maintain a balance between healthy eating and fun meal times. Offering the advice, as a culinary expert and a mom, Grimm suggests allowing kids indulgences at meals during holidays and on special occasions. Compensating for those indulgences at the preceding or following meal allows everyone to enjoy the best of both worlds!

So, what can I tell you now? Get to IHOP, decorate those Scary Face Pancakes and share those happy or horribly delicious pics on social media with #ScaryFacePancakes for a possible feature on the IHOP website! Pancakes and Pumpkins aren't just for kids- look forward to some incredible new additions coming along very soon. Maybe Pumpkin Belgian Waffles? Perhaps Chicken and Pumpkin Waffles? Pumpkins aren't just for Halloween, let's keep the pumpkin coming, before good pumpkins go bad.

Take a moment to share your #IHOPSmile today!
