Thrilling attractions, spectacular shows, and eateries appealing to all, the iconic Tree of Life sets the stage for memorable experiences.

Let's begin sprinkling a little pixie dust to organize those Disney shopping sprees and vacation planning travel checklists with these tried-and-true Disney insider tips- 

1- Did you know that guests to Disney Theme Parks are allowed to bring certain snack items into Disney theme parks? Always remember to inform a Disney Park Security Cast Member of any food items you are carrying inside with you when entering the park. Travel in Disney style, packing essentials lightly for both comfort, convenience, and security reasons, as according to Disney World Cooler Guidelines for Theme Parks and Water Parks- 

"Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high are not allowed in Disney's theme parks or water parks. Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations."

2- Many guests visiting Disney Parks have expressed concerns about the availability of food they're are able to safely enjoy, special dietary requests including food allergies or intolerances, medically restricted diets, kosher and halal meals are often accommodated at table-service restaurants and select quick-service locations. In planning your visit, its recommended that restaurant reservation are completed online, when possible, indicating any food allergies or special requests.

3- Here's a definite NO that you should know before you go, glass or alcoholic beverages are not permitted into any of the theme park premises. No worries, Disney understands, there is wine available at select locations.

4- Map out those essential amenities before you go or as soon as you enter into the theme park. Point out common places necessary during your visit, including Baby Care areas, First Aid Stations, Guest Services, Lost Child Locations, Lockers, Lost and Found, Stroller and Wheelchair Rental Areas.

5- Show off head-to-toe Disney wear, by all means, however, remember to dress for comfort. Gear up with a small backpack, and in comfortable walking shoes, I repeat- travel lightly, and check local weather reports (I always pack a lightweight rain poncho when in Florida) for the day of your visit. 

Here's important information for anyone planning to really get into character at Disney Theme Parks-

"Costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older; however, some costumes may be permitted during select special events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Star Wars: Galactic Nights (special event costume guidelines apply).

Masks may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes); however, some masks may be permitted during select special events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Star Wars: Galactic Nights (special event costume guidelines apply)."

Also note that Disney Parks are casual, family-friendly environments reserving the right to restrict any objectionable material, including obscene language, graphics, excessively torn or dragging clothes, or clothing which exposes excessive portions of skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment.

6- "We value all our Guests with disabilities and service animals are welcomed at most locations throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and Resort hotels."

Disney Theme Parks identify service animals as "any dog or miniature horse trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability." Visiting guests with service animals are responsible for retaining control of their animals at all times. Service animals must be managed by a leash or harness while visiting. At no time is any Cast Member allowed to take control of service animals.

Take into consideration that certain rides and attractions are not safe for service animals to ride or enter.  Consult with Cast Member at these locations to find out about available options, including Rider Switch with a member of your party or a portable kennel.


7- It's always worth emphasizing that guests are encouraged to check Walt Disney Resort Park Rules to review in greater detail Disney Theme Park policies before your arrival. Maintaining the safety and well-being of guests requires routine updates to rules, policies, and procedures to most effectively protect the safety of all guests.
