With that being said, my kids can tell you that we have acquired quite an assortment of educational games in our personal collection. As my nine-year-old son has grown up with technology as an integral part of his academic life, as well as his social life, my education and entertainment balance standards have shifted with the changing face of technology. Standing the test of time, Nintendo video games have maintained a steady presence within my home. Observing each of my three children connect with their favorite games has been interesting, to say the least! Researching ESRB provides families with detailed information about game content valuable for making informed decisions when considering video games and apps. Before we give you an inside look, let's take an insider's look, my Gamer Guy was more than excited to read that the top video games on his wish list, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pokémon Sword, and Pokémon Shield are all rated "E" for Everyone, with content descriptors for content with Comic Mischief and Mild Cartoon Violence.

Getting into game mode, my Gamer Guy was prepared for to join in on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons excitement, along with magnificent Pokémon adventures.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, two of the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch games of all time! In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, players embark on a journey through the Galar region, where they’ll catch, battle and trade a variety of Pokémon. Throughout the game, they meet a memorable cast of characters and unravel the mystery behind the two Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta.
