It's quite appropriate to reveal that beloved children's classic, The Tiger Rising, has been developed into a movie during the year 2022, also celebrated as the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese Lunar calendar. Based upon New York Times Best-Seller, The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo, two unlikely new friends make a surprising new discovery which will change their lives forever through a lessons of "friendship and freedom". During a family movie night we learned of the upcoming release of the new movie, which my ten-year-old son became excited about the release, having read the book with his third grade class. As I researched the book, which I hadn't had the opportunity to read yet, I was reminded of the fact that New York Times Best-Selling Author, Kate DiCamillo is the author of more than a few of our favorite young adult books including- The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, The Magician's Elephant, The Tale of Despereaux, Because of Winn-Dixie, Flora & Ulysses, and also The Tiger Rising, which I just had to read now.
