What is a miracle? I can honestly say that I've found myself in the midst of situations where I'd be at a loss to explain in any other way than miraculous. Trust me when I say that's a story for another time. While there is much debate sparked about the existence of miracles, many of us have personal stories of having witnessed or experienced miracles firsthand. Simply explained, a phenomenon unable to be explained by natural explanation or science is often viewed as a miracle. An entire community were witness to a Miracle at Manchester. Streaming on Pure Flix, the movie is based on the true story of Brycen Newman, a high school athlete suddenly diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer. Emotional connections from dramatizations of actual events tug at my heartstrings on a deeper level than most stories. Sharing the journey of Brycen and his family as they battled cancer, and the way their community joined together in support I learned the story behind the true story of the Miracle at Manchester.

The True Story of the Miracle at Manchester

"God is still in the business of miracles. Based on the true story, a high schooler’s bright future changes in an instant when he’s diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. But the power of prayer and support from his community renews a father’s faith and brings healing to a family."

Spoiler alert, I believe in miracles. Whether miracles bring comfort, amazement, or establish beliefs, we gain a better understanding of these mysterious ways of the world where we all live in together. In my opinion, the most powerful part of miracle would be the shared experience. This is the beauty of story within the movie, Miracle at Manchester.

The movie Miracle at Manchester centers around the actual life events of Brycen Newman, high school football and baseball team. Suddenly experiencing troubling, unexplained headaches and other symptoms, Brycen’s parents take him to the hospital to discover the cause of his health concerns.

Dismissed and discouraged by medical staff, Brycen’s dad is advised by a coworker to see a recommended neurosurgeon.  Concerned by his findings, surgery leads to a diagnosis with a 10% chance of survival.

Brycen’s classmates and friends join together in fellowship, faith, and prayer in support of his health struggle. Challenging scientific research, the turn of events are best described as being nothing short of a miracle.
