Sun Moon Symbolizes the Power of Life and Light

What symbols have been most meaningful to you in your life? Looking at the world around us and seeing certain symbols is one way to reflect our emotions. Feelings of love, hope, fear, pride, or inspiration can be connected to different symbols. Whenever I see outlines of hearts anywhere, I would often smile with a feeling of peace from thoughts of love that hearts represent. In life there are times where we may feel a little discouraged, inevitably, the high peaks and low valleys we
experience are beyond our control. Finding confidence to move forward through difficult and challenging times will feel like a test of your faith. During these moments, if we are capable of discovering inspiration from symbols of faith, we have a better chance of revealing light in the midst of darkness. We have had the opportunity to partner with Pure Flix for an advanced screening of Sun Moon, an inspirational movie showing how when dealing with disappointments or losing sight of our goals, by learning to trust in our symbol of faith, there is hope. The movie, Sun Moon symbolizes the great power of life and light in our lives.

Sun Moon Symbolizes the Power of Life and Light

"Kelsey is running from failure, heartbreak and humiliation. In an attempt to understand God’s purpose for her life, she goes to Taiwan to teach English. Will her leap of faith pay off?"

I'm often inspired by seeing how others are capable of finding the resources the need to overcome personal adversity. Sun Moon shares an engaging perspective showing ways we are able to find joy and purpose in the midst of new experiences.

In the movie Sun Moon, Kelsey is in a place in her life where she is devasted, confused, and questioning her faith. Deciding to step away from everything for a fresh start in Taiwan, she begins a new job there abroad.

Confronted with Kelsey’s cultural differences and challenging difficulties overwhelm her, she discovers powerful realities about not only the world around her but also herself. By being able to observe common symbols in our lives representing deeper connections to one another creates a strong bond.

Sun Moon is a story about hope during the dark times where God is asking us to step out in faith and do intimidating things,” said writer and director Sydney Tooley. “It reminds me of the phrase 'Jesus take the wheel.' I don't know where they think they're going but sometimes you find yourself off-roading in the jungle without a map. In the movie, Kelsey has to decide if she'll follow the map that God has given her. She learns that having the faith to follow God as the mapmaker isn't always the easiest choice but ultimately He'll lead you back to the things that are most important.”
