Feel The Unbreakable Spirit of The Unbreakable Boy

Once I learned about the Japanese fine art process known as Kintsugi. This is the Japanese artistry of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer to compliment the cracks and imperfections in the work rather than hide or disguise imperfections. This message was shared as an illustration of the divine beauty of renewing broken pottery to become symbolic of strength, healing, and our ability to embrace our past experiences as part of our life journey. I recalled this lovely creative concept as I watched a most heartwarming family movie. We were given the privilege of viewing an advanced screening of The Unbreakable Boy, courtesy of Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company. Similar to the beauty of the fractured yet remarkable kintsugi pottery, Austin, affectionately known as The Unbreakable Boy finds the joy of life in some of his most painful moments. Based upon the true story of Austin's life experiences, we encourage you to feel the unbreakable spirit of The Unbreakable Boy.

Feel The Unbreakable Spirit of The Unbreakable Boy

The Unbreakable Boy

"From Kingdom Story Company, the team behind Jesus
Revolution
and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Lionsgate, the studio behind Wonder, comes The Unbreakable Boy. When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

Countless times I've shared my delight in watching movies which proclaim to be based on a true story. Delivering a most heartwarming story, The Unbreakable Boy is a biographical movie based upon the true story of Austin LeRette. Early in his life, his family learned that he was on the autism spectrum, as well as being diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta, commonly referred to as brittle bone disease.

Optimistic and inspirational, Austin and his father, Scott bond as they navigate the challenges of life with special needs and parenting a child with special needs together. Empowered by Austin's innate positivity and resilience, his dad and the people touched by Austin's unbreakable spirit learn invaluable life lessons about gratitude, joy, and the beauty of life.
